It has something for everyone – awe-inspiring views from the peak of Table Rock, fly fishing in Wilson Creek and peaceful solitude on dozens of trails within the Linville Gorge Wilderness Area.
 

North Carolina’s State Parks are perfect for families. Two outstanding parks are located on Lake James and South Mountain State park is a short drive away. If your family enjoys hiking, biking, and camping, these are parks you should definitely check out.

A 45 minute drive from Asheville allows you to take advantage of everything the city has to offer.  From the crafty Arts district to trying out local brews at one of the many micro breweries.  Enjoy all the city has to offer while having the luxury of pristine lakeside living.  Just a short drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Mount Mitchell State Park and Grandfather Mountain it truly is the perfect base camp for all your adventures.

The foothills and mountains of North Carolina are rich with Revolutionary War history. The Overmountain Victory Trail Association, along with local parks and communities throughout the region, have teamed up with the National Park Service to create a trail system that commemorates the history of this area.  Three miles of the Overmountian Victory National Historic Trail are located in the 1780 community and connects the community to Lake James State Park.
