Camp Lake James is a private recreational club established in 2008 for the Old Wildlife and 1780 communities. In a spectacular mountain setting, Camp Lake James is located 45 minutes east of Asheville and one and half hours west of Charlotte in Nebo, North Carolina. Here you can enjoy an environment free of the fast-paced lifestyle. We treasure creating lifelong memories in a place where life is elegant in its simplicity. Every day is rooted in family traditions, neighbors and friends coming together, and life vibrant with youthful energy. Members spend their days kayaking or canoeing on clear mountain waters, cooling off in the pool, or unwinding around a crackling campfire while roasting marshmallows. After a day on the lake, nothing is better than kicking back at the Social Hall and getting a bite to eat at the Canteen.
